Alexander John Fluet, 89, of Barrhead, AB, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024. Born on November 21, 1934, Alex lived a full life of joyful connections, centered around his love of family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley, and their five children: Kevin (Beatrice) Bohn, Cheryl (Wayne) Kucharchuk, Marilyn (Darcy) Paquin, Allan (Kerri) Fluet, and James Fluet. He was a cherished grandfather to 19 grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather of 10, leaving behind a large and loving family. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings.
Alex was known for his passion for farming and his enthusiasm for tractors, wanting to keep any he had even if they didn’t run. He also loved to socialize, and his friendships were an important part of who he was. Whether in the field or in the company of friends, Alex was always happy to share a story or a laugh.
A Memorial Mass be held to honor his life, on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 5210 – 50 Street, Barrhead, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barrhead Continuing Care Centre-Respite Program or the Barrhead FCSS Food Bank in his memory.
Alex will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of hard work, friendship, and love for his family will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
