With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Angus Kyle Genaille, lovingly known as "Kayn," on February 25, 2026, at the age of 36.
Kayn was from Gordon First Nation and most recently resided in Alexander First Nation. He carried his roots with him and lived his life grounded in family, connection to the land, and the people he loved.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Ashley, and his beautiful children: Sandy Lee, Annastasia, Zoey, Malani, and his son, baby Kaene. Above all else, Kayn loved being a dad. His children were his greatest joy, his proudest accomplishments, and the center of his world.
Kayn had many passions that reflected his creative and generous spirit. He loved tattooing and drawing, using his talent to tell stories and create meaningful art.
He found peace and strength in hunting and being outdoors, and he was always happiest working outside, building, creating, and staying busy. He was always there for the ones he loved, showing up without hesitation and giving whatever he could.
Kayn had the image of a hard ass, but those who truly knew him understood he had a heart of gold. Beneath his tough exterior was a man full of love, loyalty, and compassion. He was the biggest jokester, able to light up any room with laughter, yet he carried a deep devotion to his family and friends.
His strength, humor, creativity, and unwavering love will never be forgotten.
Kayn's spirit lives on in his children and in the stories shared by those who loved him and were lucky enough to call him a friend.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 at Alexander First Nation with burial following at Alexander Cemetery in Alexander, Alberta.
