Anne Marie Hatton (nee McRae) was born Sept. 5, 1918 and died Oct. 16, 2016 at the Youville Home in St. Albert, AB, surrounded by family. Anne was born in Bornish, Ontario, the eldest of four children and the last surviving member of her family. She was a wife, mother, partner in her husband Al's real estate business and served on the Sarnia Separate School board for many years, including several years as Chair of the board. She was a fierce competitor, avid bridge player and a passionate reader. Anne and Al were on the planning committee to build Sacred Heart Church in Sarnia. Anne moved to Alberta in 2011 to be closer to family. She is survived by her four children, Alan Hatton (Kim Canary), Mary Jane Hatton (Joe James), Joanne Byfield, and Beth Lavery (John); her 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Al Hatton and son-in-law Link Byfield.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm at St. Emerence Catholic Church in Riviere Qui Barre, AB. A memorial service will take place in Sarnia next spring.
