Annie Bergheim (nee Sandulac)

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021 at the age of 101 years.  She was born on March 28, 1920 at Hairy Hill, Alberta to a family of 13 children.  She is survived by 2 sisters.

Not only was she the kindest,  loving, generous person, with a heart of gold,  she was an amazing cook, gardener,  excelling at whatever she did.  Whoever met her was touched by her kind, good natured personality.

Not only was she a hard worker, she was a whiz at playing games especially cards.

She had 5 children—Joan (Eli) Suhan, Golden, B.C., Doris (Fred) Clarke, Thorhild, Ab,  Leonard Bergheim St.Paul, Ab,  Ken (Joyce) Bergheim, Rich Lake, Ab & Dennis (Roxanne)Bergheim, St.Paul, Ab.

  11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren & 1 Great, great grandchild.  While she loved all her children, her grandchildren & great grandchildren were her pride & joy.

She was predeceased by her husband Tom,  son Ken,  grandson Dale, son-in-law Eli, great grandson Michael.

She got married at 18 years old to Thomas Bergheim & lived at Rich Lake where they worked hard on the farm to make a living & raise their family.  Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of home made bread, pies etc.  No one came near the farm without being fed.

  She became a widow at 55 years old,  her son & family took over the farming & she went to cook in camps. 

She stayed in her own home—cooking, looking after the home & a big garden until she was 95 years old when she moved to the seniors lodge in Lac La Biche.   She lived there until a month and a half ago when she moved to Radway Continuing Care home.

She is resting now, but she leaves a large void & is greatly missed by all those who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2022.
