It is with heavy hearts that the family of Linda Schryver announces her passing on March 10, 2025, at the age of 94 years.
How does one cram 94 years into a few sentences; from surviving WW2 as a child in Holland, to immigrating to Canada as an adult and becoming a Canadian Citizen.
Cathalina was known fondly as Lina or Linda to those close to her. Family meant everything to her and was #1 in her life. She loved being surrounded by people young and old alike. She loved farm life and all that goes with it, especially being fond of the cows and always expressing an interest in how calving was going and what cattle prices were. A TRUE FARMER!
Gardening was her passion and she found much joy growing beautiful flowers in her greenhouse which was also evident in her home. She loved watching the Oilers and commented on them the next day.
There was never a family gathering where she didn’t make her amazing cream puffs for all to enjoy. Her grandchildren said she made the best cup of tea with milk and sugar.
She lived a long full life, and we’ve only touched on a tiny bit. We love you “Mom”, “Oma”, Linda” and “Lina”. You will be missed so very much.
Linda is survived by her chosen daughter Cathy (Richard); son John (Regina); grandchildren: Chad (Lana), Heidi, Lena (Graham); Nancy (Jonathan), Brian (Arezou); sixteen great grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Joan (Jerry) and Mary, as well as other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her first husband Edward Langendam; second husband Peter Schryver; parents, Pieter and Leendrina; one brother Gary; one sister Wanda.
Linda’s wishes were to be cremated and with no service. Her children are respecting her wishes.
