James "Jamie" Maxwell MacKeage

James (Jamie) Maxwell MacKeage, beloved husband of the late Violet MacKeage, passed away on March 4th, 2024 at the age of 90 years due to complications from his long battle with diabetes.

Jamie is survived by his brother Arnold MacKeage, his brothers-in-law Don (Iris) Romanchuk and Gene (Judy) Romanchuk, his nephews Dwight (Lori) McKeage, Russell McKeage, and Robert (Heidrun) MacKeage, his grandniece Jessica MacKeage, and extended family members. 

He was predeceased by his wife Violet MacKeage (2014), his mother Bernice Evline MacKeage (née Olney) 4 days after his birth (1933), his father Clement Cyril MacKeage (1956), Aunt Mary MacKeage (1974), his brothers Melvin McKeage (2005), Nelson McKeage (2012), Elmer McKeage (1985) and Clayton MacKeage (2009), his mother-in-law Mary Romanchuk (2015) and father-in-law Steve Romanchuk (1991), his brother-in-law Milton Romanchuk (2024), and nephew Eric MacKeage (2021)

Jamie was a high school teacher in Edmonton for many years.  He was also an avid photographer who sponsored the JPCHS Photo Club for 31 years.  In addition, he was a science fiction and classic movie buff.  He was an organizer and member of the Jasper Place High School twice-yearly Reunion Breakfast (1998-2020) and of MOUSE (MacIntosh Owners and Users Society of Edmonton).

An informal Celebration of Life (as per Jamie’s request) will be announced at a later date.
