After a brief illness Laurie Blades of Westlock, AB formerly of Linaria, AB passed away on February 9, 2022, with family by his side at the Westlock Healthcare Centre.
Laurie was born August 13, 1932, in Stony Plain, AB. He grew up in the Highridge and Linaria districts. Laurie was a farmer, school bus driver and grader operator. In 1959 he married Aileen Suchow of Bloomsbury, AB.
He was predeceased by two sons: Ronald and Bernard; parents Edgar and Bertha Blades; in-laws, Walter and Stefania Zylinski; sister, Linda (Knud Pedersen); brother-in-law, Bill Madson.
Laurie leaves to morn his wife Aileen; two sons: Norman (Doreen), Jeff (Carrie); daughter Kathy (Lawry) Sargent; seven grandchildren and their six spouses; seven great grandchildren; sister, Glo Madson as well as many other relatives and friends.
Per his request no funeral service will be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
