Mary Anna Stimson

It is with loving memory that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mother, Mary Anna Stimson on March 21, 2016 at the age of 97 years.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Dean in 1986.

She leaves behind her five children: Gerald (Gwen), Pat (Howard), Iris (Jim), Ron (Gerri), Teresa (Barry); 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; as well as many relatives and friends.

Mom was very active where she had lived, Dapp, AB, Westlock, AB and Winfield, B.C. communities. She played music at the church as well as being a member of the FWUA (Farm Women Union of Alberta) and CWL (Catholic Women's League). She enjoyed bowling, square dancing, gardening and travelling. She took great pride in baking and won many ribbons at the Westlock Fair. Mom enjoyed music all her life. Her and Dad put together and played in an old time band for many years. She played the piano well into her 90's. Mom loved to play cards, especially crib. She also enjoyed playing horseshoes at family reunions. We were truly blessed to have had Mom in our lives for 97 years.

Thank you to Dr. Da Cunha and all the staff of 2nd floor at the Westlock Continuing Care Centre for their kindness and dedication in caring for Mom.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 75 Poirier Ave., St. Albert, AB with Reverend A. Humenig OMI as celebrant. A private family interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Edmonton, AB. Anyone who so wishes may make a memorial donation directly to Westlock Continuing Care Centre Fund/Palliative Care, 10203-96 St., Westlock, AB T7P 2R3
