Murray Glenn Knight

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Murray Knight - devoted husband, father, Papa, and spirited volunteer of Morinville, AB. Murray passed peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 following a brief illness at the age of 74.

Murray lived a zestful life of service and devotion to his family and community. Murray

never left a family occasion without declaring his love and gratitude for all of his loved

ones. He will leave a legacy of dedication to Morinville’s hockey organizations, The

Morinville Historical and Cultural Society, and to many community events and

developments. His no nonsense approach to organizational operations and negotiation

along with his quick wit and sense of humor were his trademarks - and maybe a tad bit

of “spicy” language. Murray was also very proud of his long career with CN Rail - retiring

in 2002 after 37 years of service.

Murray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Renee; his children Shelley

(Kirk), and Jason (Kerry); his grandchildren: Maranda (Kelvin); Megan, and Morgan; and Kade and Kennedi; his sisters Wendy, and Penny (Craig); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Murray was predeceased by his son, Randall; sister, Debbie; and parents

Patricia Byfield and Glenn Knight.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Morinville Cultural Centre, 9502-100 Ave., Morinville, AB on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Alberta Society for the

Prevention of Cruelty to Animals AB SPCA, 13620-163 St. NW, Edmonton, AB T5V 0B2;

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Sturgeon Community Hospital ICU

staff - specifically nurses: Deka, Carolyn, and Ashley; as well as Dr. Suni for their care

and compassion.
