"Ted" John Edward Kaler

With loving remembrance and heavy hearts, the family of John Edward Kaler "Ted" announces his passing on October 14, 2020 in St. Albert, AB.

Ted was a man with a huge heart, contagious smile, compassionate, and always loved the company of his family and friends. He spent 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Mechanical Aircraft Engineer and after departure he continued working on the Hercules aircraft. After retirement he found great joy in the simple things in life, riding his Goldwing bike, sitting on his deck with his family, friends and his dogs, enjoying their company, taking in the nature around him, and watching the aircrafts fly above while sipping a nice cold can of Bud Light.

His family remembers the laughs, stories, conversations, and the way he would light up when we all came to visit or call. His stories, laughs, and hugs were second to none. His heart was bigger than the sky, his eyes sparkled like the stars and he was just an all around one of a kind!

Ted is survived by his loving wife, JoAnne; step children: Val (Kevin), Bonnie (Brian) and Brian; his sons: Randy (Tammy) and Dennis (Cara); grandchildren: Jaydon, Geordon, Bethany, Dylan, Brittney, Courtney, Aleesha, Caden, Coleton, and Addilyn; step brother: Hugh (Joyce); sisters: Eileen (Isaac), Vi (Brian), Judy (Silas), Bonnie, Shelly (Bill) and Mary; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his sisters: Pat, Barb and Shannon.

Ted’s wishes were to be cremated and his family are respecting his wishes.
