Violet Bain Obituary

With deep love and fond remembrance, we announce the passing of Violet Marie Bain on April 3, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born on October 12, 1928, in Edmonton, Alberta, Violet was one of seven children of Frank and Mary Middlebrough. Affectionately known as “Bud” to family and friends, she brought warmth, kindness, and creativity to everyone she met.

On November 15, 1947, she married, Robert (Bob) Agus Bain. Together they made their home first in Westlock, and later in Shoal Creek, Alberta raising their family.

Violet was a gifted cook and seamstress. She was well-known for sewing beautiful, detailed Barbie doll clothes—not just for her daughter, but also for nieces and children throughout the community. She loved creating with her hands, whether it was sewing, crafting, or crocheting, and she continued crocheting until just days before her passing.

Violet was predeceased by her husband, Bob on August 29, 1997, and their son, Richard (Rick) William Bain on June 15, 2016.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Nora Bromberger (Cliff), and daughter-in-law, Jenny Bain; grandchildren: Duncan (Wendy) Bain, Andrew Bain, George (Danielle) Bromberger, and Rebecca Bromberger; and great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Adele Bain, and Oliver and Ella Bromberger. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Don Middlebrough.

Her strength, giving nature, and creative spirit touched the lives of many, and her memory will continue to live on through the family and friends who loved her.

As per her request, there will be no formal service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
