On Friday December 31st, 2021, Joe Jandl suddenly and unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his own home, a few hundred feet from where he was born 79 years ago on his parent’s homestead near Flatbush, AB.
Joe is survived by his wife of 46 years, Irma; daughter Christine (Ed); son Andrew; grandson Brandon; one brother Hans, two sisters Rose and Anna (Robert); one sister in law, Christa (Erwin); one brother in law Werner (Inge); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and neighbors that turned into family for him over the years (Herb, Glenn, Damond, Curtis) and countless others.
Joe loved farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, fabricating, sawing lumber, logging, shooting, and fixing all sorts of things. He took over the family farm at age 14 and farmed there for over 60 years. As well, he worked seasonally for 40 years on the drilling rigs with Tri-City Drilling and spent time up in the Arctic as well.
He will not be missed by the Elk, Deer, Moose, and Walleye in the Flatbush area……..
The family would like to thank Damond for taking the time to check on him and being there for him.
A memorial service will be planned for May of 2022 at the family farm.
