With saddened hearts, the family of Cecile Dusza, share the news of her peaceful passing at the Smithfield Lodge in Westlock.
Cecile was born on Dec. 19 - 1939 and passed away on August 10 - 2026.
She was pre-deceased by her parents: Tony and Stella Barabas, siblings: Kizik, Jeanette, Dick and Stanley as well as her beloved husband Walter in 2017.
She is survived by one sister, Julie and her dedicated care-givers - Dwayne and Annette Dusza as well as many other family members and close friends.
Cecile grew up in the Rochester area, attended school there and as a young woman, she worked at one of the Rochester general stores.
She met the love of her life and was married to Walter on July 31 - 1959. Their marriage was not blessed with children but many nieces and nephews were treated as their
"adopted kids" and have many fond memories of time spent together.
They lived on the Dusza homestead north of Clyde corner and ran a mixed farming operation for 40 years after which time, they reduced their farm to an acreage. During that time, Cecile worked at the Super A Food Store in Westlock for a few years and continued to enjoy hosting big family meals, gardening and loving her farm pets.
Cecile continued to live there for a few more years after her husband died but health problems necessitated a move into Westlock in 2020.
Missing her husband, her zest for life slowly faded although she was always very appreciative of her caregivers and all her family and friends who visited, always sharing her beautiful smile.
A gentle person, considerate friend, hard-working woman, and very dedicated wife, Cecile leaves us all with many happy memories but she will be greatly missed.
May she rest in peace.
Funeral service: Clyde Catholic Church on Friday - August 21 at 10:00 am.
Interment at Halach Cemetery to follow.
